THANKSGIVING FUN AT THE LIBRARY November 24, 2017

So...the Library was CLOSED on Thanksgiving and the day after.  It was clearly MY mistake for leaving the Dragons on their own for so long....

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, here I am, thinking I have this brilliant idea to have the door going into our library decorated as a Medieval castle entry.  My better half was helping me, and while I was contemplating if it was OK to have it off center, he began to laugh and pointed out that it was probably the first ancient castle to have an automatic door.....

WHERE ARE THE DRAGONS? Thursday, July 13, 2017

The Library Dragons are back in the renovated space and they LOVE IT!  They are looking forward to the Grand Re-Opening on Friday, July 14, 2017; 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

To add to the fun, the Library Dragons are HIDING in plain sight!  While adults are looking around, kids can do a little Library Dragon scavenger hunt, to see if they can spy those mischief makers!

Stop in and see the space, enjoy treats, pick up novelties, and sign-up to win a book, some of which were autographed by William Kent Krueger!

GIFTS FROM WILLIAM KENT KRUEGER! June 22, 2017

We wanted something special to give away in a drawing during our Grand Re-opening on Friday, July 14, 2017; 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

We wrote to Mr. William Kent Krueger and asked him if he would mind autographing a book for us for the occasion.  We offered to purchase/send him a book, but he generously told us, “No,” that he was happy to contribute to the cause.

When the package arrived, I was so excited I dropped it! So, the Dragons said, “here, let US do it!”

(The above photo was inspired by "Petticoat Junction" … J )

YAYYYYY!!!  Aren’t these fantastic?  THANK YOU, KENT!!!

I would like to say that the Dragons were really excited about the wonderful books (I know I was) but then they discovered something that, for Library Dragons, was a bit more entertaining. . .

LIBRARY OR STARSHIP ENTERPRISE? June 21, 2017

There are so many cool things going on at the Adrian Branch Library right now!  I have never seen a circulation desk/work desk like the one in the Library.  In fact, I feel as if I am sort of on the Starship Enterprise – I can control the LIGHTS from the DESK (The Bridge)!

I told the Dragons how I felt, and they wanted to play “Star Trek.”

They took their places on the The Bridge:

In their imagination, however, this is what they saw:
Libraries are great for the imagination!

(A special thank you to Marshall Stanton for making this tableaux possible.)
